DEFROSTING INTO SPRING

We’re putting away our Uggs and Aritiza puffer coats and trading them in for tank tops and our beloved sandals that have been tucked away in the back of our closets. Warm weather is officially on its way and I’m here to give you a bit of inspiration so by the time our weather apps say 65 degrees and sunny, you’ll be fully prepared. No need to be rummaging around in your draws for those cut off shorts we swear were there last April or paying overnight shipping for our spring wardrobe to come in time.

I’ve compiled a mix of outfit inspiration to get you through the most difficult time in fashion–the winter to spring transition. As a New England girl, this time of year is especially tricky when it comes to wardrobe choices. One day I’m blessed with sunshine on my face and excitedly throwing on a Realisation Par mini dress paired with a cardigan and the next I’m in the kitchen running late to school because I said good riddance to my Uggs and puffer coat a bit too soon and now it's freezing outside again. Wherever you’re reading this article, it’s always best to have a wardrobe fully prepared for the new season ahead!

The Classic White Top and Blue Jeans

A crucial and staple outfit, but this spring let’s mix it up. I love a white tank, and this lace one seen on the model below is perfect. To replicate this look, try Free People’s Forevermore Tank.

The Slouchy Boyfriend Jeans

Lila Moss rocks the casual springtime look. Her low-rise boyfriend jeans paired with the sweater thrown over her shoulders make this the perfect winter-to-spring transition outfit. It’s the go-to outfit for class or enjoying a sunny afternoon with friends.

Grab a coat on your way out!

I’m obsessed with mini dresses and throwing something a little looser over the shoulders. From a trench coat to a casual blazer, it gives such a sleek and effortless look. This is the perfect out-to-dinner look. Because it’s not warm enough yet to ditch the layers, this out embraces it. But you can just as easily ditch it at the coat rack.

Biker Shorts Comeback

Biker Shorts seemed to be all the rage a few years ago, and honestly…I hated them. They were cute for the gym or a Whole Foods run, but in general, I couldn’t find a way to style them that I really loved. But of course, Devon Lee Carlson has a way. Pairing these black biker shorts with a cute t-shirt is perfect for those warm spring days that are on our way! If you're a fan of the babydoll tops, that could work here, but I’m a fan of how Devon went for a more loose and casual top. I would wear this outfit just chilling with my friends, or even laying in the backyard getting a pre-tan since it shows a good amount of skin to help you get sun kissed. I also think using the same solid colors makes this look more classy and presentable, compared to last year when it was bright colorful biker shorts mixed with a button down (no offense to Hailey Bieber)!
