WHERE TO EAT AND DRINK IN WEST HOLLYWOOD

sky haarsma

hello world!
@greatwhite

West Hollywood is definitely the hot spot when it comes to the it-girls like Hailey Bieber and Kendall Jenner, and I don't blame them. There are some great spots to eat, drink, and get matcha. But Yelp doesn't know it-girl spots as I do, so I've gathered them all. Whether you live here and are just looking for a new matcha spot or good food, or you are visiting soon and want the total LA it-girl experience, this is the only list you will ever need.

I judge food and drink places based on three things: taste, environment, and vibe. It either has to have all three, or 1-2 of those options have to be so insanely good they make up for what's lacking. However, I think the places I'm going to share with you check all the boxes.

for good food, good vibes, and it girls

Great White

8917 Melrose Ave, West Hollywood, CA

I'll give credit where credit is due, and Great White deserves the hype. This location is nicer than the other two in my opinion and it's my mom and my go-to lunch spot. You'll definitely find Hailey here and if not her, then me. All the food and drinks are good so you can't go wrong. In fact, this is one of the few places where I love to try something new each time to taste as much of the menu as possible. Plus, you can wear something cute and casual and have a stunning time.

for upscale vegan food

Crossroads Kitchen

8284 Melrose Ave, Los Angeles, CA

I love coming here and sitting outside and sharing basically the whole menu with whoever I take here. The food is good and the fact that it's all vegan makes ordering so fun - because there is nothing worse than not eating meat when you go out to eat and being confined to the house salad or a boring veggie burger that is never good. And yes, the calamari on the lunch menu is vegan.

for matcha, coffee, and seeing people you know

Community Goods

710 N Edinburgh Ave, Los Angeles, CA

Basically everyone with a TikTok account or Rhode lip balm has stood in line here. I personally don't come here often because it's a little too crowded for me and you basically feel like you are in a casting line for influencers. However, it's a must go-to if you visit LA. It's the new pink wall except instead of that 2016 photo of yourself, this is the 2024 photo of your matcha, Rhode phone case, and breakfast sliders.

for the iconic bathroom selfie

Jones

7205 Santa Monica Blvd, West Hollywood, CA

You have all seen the iconic mirror selfies and bathroom photos from Devon Lee Carlson and the girls in this photo-covered wall green bathroom. But the location - it's always a secret, and this place (especially the bathroom) tends to be an IYKYK destination. Luckily, I know, and I'm sharing so you, too, can join the club of Jones mirror selfies.

*side note: I don't love the food here, so take that into consideration, but I mean, anything for the photo, right?

for vegan Mexican food

Gracias Madre

8905 Melrose Ave, West Hollywood, CA

I love the atmosphere here, and nothing is nicer than sitting outside and eating vegan Mexican food on a sunny day. And if you are of age, with a margarita or two. I've personally only come here for lunch or dinner, so I've never tried their brunch, but I've heard good things. However, I would suggest just coming here for lunch.

And if you want the perfect day for your first time in LA and want to hit all the it-girl spots, I would say start with matcha and banana bread or breakfast sliders from Community Goods, then get lunch at Great White and dinner at Jones.

Fashion blogs have always been my favorite thing to read, since like forever. Iโ€™m subscribed to all the magazines. My tabs are always full of articles about Bella Hadid or Kourtney Kardashianโ€™s new matcha recipe. I eat that crap up. But I was always annoyed when I opened a fashion blog. Instead of getting the scoop on Devon Lee Carlson or the new SSENSE sale, it was some old person I never heard about or some crazy designer that only makes clothes for the elite.
