Gigi Hadid has been the forever-it girl, and watching her style evolve has been lots of fun. Ever since dropping her line, Guest In Residence, she seems to reach for lots of cashmere and colors and has definitely found her true style.

Her other iconic supermodel sister, Bella Hadid, has been the more recent trendsetter, selling out platform Uggs and making Adidas Sambas the most popular shoe for the past two years.

But after recent events - is Adidas a friend or foe? For the Hadids, they seemed to have landed on the foe's side. So, with the lack of sambas in the wardrobes, what shoe has replaced the sneaker?

It's too early for Uggs and boots, so we bring a new contestor to the race - the skateboarder shoe we all know and loved - the checkerboard slip-ons from Vans. Now, I can't speak for everyone, but I'm pretty sure I can speak for the majority when I say we all had this shoe circa 2017 when the skater boys and Venice Beach Brandy girls were running rampant on the streets.

Gigi wore these shoes twice last week; both styled very differently but very her. In the featured look for her ice cream adventure she wore a $2,200 summery dress from Bode that's perfect (and a little overpriced) for this heat wave. She paired it with a vintage trucker hat and her yellow Miu Miu bag. Oh, and no-show socks are out, so crew socks with the slip-ons.

Her next look features knit jeans, a vintage tee, and a mini Louis Vuitton purse. Styled with her bob and Vans.

So whether or not these shoes will make their way back into everyone's closets, Gigi definitely isn't giving them up this summer, and I'm here for it.
